I had a great time watching some of the NHL games yesterday. My favourite game was the one between the Golden Knights and Avalanche. I must admit that I was a little let down by the Penguins’ loss against the Bruins because it was their fifth consecutive loss. Blue Jackets vs Ottawa Senators
The Senators have been great in the past few games, and I must say that I`m very surprised with the way that they are playing at the moment.Ā They won 3 of their last 4 games against very strong teams like the Sabres and the Bruins who are the best team in the NHL right now. Nevertheless, things arenĀ“t going so well for them as they stand in 6thĀ place in the Atlantic division with a record of 17-17. Their offence is doing great scoring almost 3 goals per game, however, their defence has been awful, allowing 3.14 goals per game. Brady Tkachuk and Alex DeBrincat have been the best players so far.Ā
Regarding the Jackets, they are having a very bad season as they are in last place in the Metropolitan Division with an 11-22 record and with only 3 victories in their previous 10 games. Their offence tends to score only 2.69 per game and their defence has been one of the worst in the league allowing 3.91 goals per game.

How the game will play out
This will be the first time that these teams are going to play against each other. I cannot see the Blue Jackets get anything out of this game as they have been playing so poorly. I would go with the Senators.

St. Louis Blues vs Toronto Maple Leafs
Another very interesting game to watch is going to be the Blues against the Toronto Maple Leafs. This will be the second time that these teams are going to face each other this season. The Maple Leafs won the first game back in December and I think they can do it again.
The Blues were defeated for the fourth time in five games, and they are now standing in fifth place in the Central division with 17 wins and 17 losses. Their offence is not bad as there tend to score 3.03 goals per game, however, their defence really needs some improvement as they usually tend to allow 3.62 goals per game.
Toronto enters this contest with a winning record of four of their previous five games. They have a record of 23 wins and 8 losses, and they stand in second place in the Atlantic division, just below the Boston Bruins. They beat the Avalanche in their last game. They tend to score 3.38 and only allow 2.52 goals per game, one of the best in the NHL.

How the game will play out
For this game, I must go with the Toronto Maple Leafs as they are one of the best teams in the NHL right now.

Calgary Flames vs Winnipeg Jets
Probably the best game of the night is the Flames against the Jets. The Flames are having a good season so far, being in 3rd place in the Pacific division with an 18-13 record. They have a solid defence, only allowing 28.1 shots per game on average, third-best in the NHL, and they tend to score 3.03 goals per game.
Regarding the Jets, they are also having a good season, being in second place in the Central division with a record of 23-13, they also tend to allow very few shots per game, only 2.57 in total, even lower than the Flames and they also tend to score more, at least 3.19 per game.

How the game will play out
One thing to keep in mind for this game is the fact that the Jets have a lot of injured players, some of those players are Nikolaj Ehlers, Cole Perfetti, Nate Schmidt, and Mason Appleton. So, I think I must go with the Flames on this one.

Montreal Canadiens vs Nashville Predators
Things are not going very well for the Canadiens this year. Being at the bottom of the Atlantic division with a record of 15 wins and 19 losses. They have only won one time in their last 9 matches. They lost their last game against the Washington Capitals 9-2. This team really needs to make some improvements if they want to climb the table. They tend to score only 2.59, which is one of the worst in the NHL and they are allowing 3.73 goals per game.
Regarding the Predators, they are having a better season than the Canadiens so far as they stand in 6th place in the Central division, above the Blues. They tend to score 2.60 which is the same as the Canadiens, however, they have been better in the defensive line, only allowing 2.89 goals per game. They lost their last game against the Golden Knights.

This will be the first time that these teams will face each other. If I had to choose I would have to go with the Predators for this one.

N.Y. Islanders vs Vancouver Canucks
Finally, another great game that I`m excited to see is the Canucks against the Islanders. The Canucks are coming into this game after two losses against the Jets and the Flames. They have a very good offensive side, however, their defence is not so good as they tend to allow too many shots and goals per game.
Regarding the Islanders, they stand almost at the bottom of the Metropolitan division. They have won their last 3 games against the Ducks, Kings, and Sharks, something that very few people were expecting.
This will be the second time these two teams will face each other. The Canucks won the first game back in October.

How the game will play out
Given how much both teams are struggling, it is challenging to predict the result of this game. However, I believe the Canucks will prevail since the Islanders typically suffer when they play against them, particularly when they are away from home.
