Detroit Lions vs Kansas City Chiefs (Saturday, Aug 17th)
The Lions hit the road again after dropping their first preseason game, where they lost 14-3 to the Giants. It was a game primarily focused on testing new players and giving their backup quarterback some valuable experience, who managed to accumulate a modest 96 yards.
On the other side, as I mentioned earlier, the Kansas City Chiefs also faced a recent setback, losing their preseason matchup against the Jaguars. Even though it was just a preseason game, I’m confident the Chiefs will be eager to bounce back and secure a win in front of their home crowd. There’s some uncertainty about whether Chris Oladokun will get the nod as quarterback for this game, but I fully expect to see Patrick Mahomes take the field alongside Travis Kelce for at least part of the game.
This seems like a straightforward prediction to me. The Chiefs are arguably the best team in the NFL, and it’s hard to imagine them losing this one. However, it’s worth noting that the last time these two teams met, the Lions edged out a 21-20 victory.
