Cincinnati Bengals vs Chicago Bears (Saturday, Aug 17th)
Let me start by saying that I’m genuinely impressed with the Chicago Bears right now. They’re heading into this matchup riding the momentum of an undefeated preseason, having won all their games so far. Their most recent victory was a commanding 33-6 win over the Buffalo Bills. Yes, it’s true that the Bills’ star quarterback, Josh Allen, didn’t play, but the Bears still showcased their offensive depth, especially with standout performances from players like number 18, Williams, who racked up impressive yardage in that game.
On the other hand, the Bengals haven’t had the same success. They stumbled in their first preseason game, losing 17-14 to the Buccaneers. The game started strong with Joe Burrow leading the charge and connecting on some key plays for an early touchdown. However, once Burrow was substituted for the newer quarterbacks and less experienced players, the Bengals struggled to maintain their momentum and couldn’t close out the win.
Looking ahead to this game, I’m leaning heavily towards the Bears. They’ve been exceptional in their recent outings, and with the added advantage of playing at home, it’s hard to see the Bengals pulling off an upset. The last time these two teams faced each other was back in 2021, with the Bears narrowly winning 20-17. Given their current form, I expect them to come out on top once again.
