Philadelphia Eagles at Baltimore Ravens (Friday, Aug 9th)
The Philadelphia Eagles and the Baltimore Ravens are among the top five teams favored to win the Super Bowl this season. Even though this is only a preseason match, I’m sure you won’t want to miss it. Last season, the Eagles didn’t perform as well as expected, and I have to say, I was hoping for more from them. After finishing second in the NFC East with a record of 11 wins and 6 losses, they were unexpectedly eliminated by the Buccaneers, losing 32-9. Their main quarterback, Jalen Hurts, was disappointing; I had expected him to contend for the MVP award last season.
On the other hand, the Baltimore Ravens had a fantastic regular season, finishing at the top of the AFC North with a record of 13 wins and only 4 losses. Although they managed to eliminate the Texans in the NFL Divisional Round with a 34-10 victory, they couldn’t stop the Chiefs’ offense in the AFC Championship, losing 17-10. One thing is certain: their main quarterback, Lamar Jackson, was the best player that season, and it was no surprise when he won the MVP trophy.
As I’ve stated numerous times before, it’s very hard to predict the outcome of these kinds of games. The preseason is for testing new players and seeing how coaches will adapt their teams for the official season. If I had to make a prediction, I would go with the Ravens, simply because they are hosting the game. The last time these two teams faced each other was in 2023, with the Ravens winning 20-19.
