New England Patriots vs Pittsburgh Steelers (TNF Dec 7th)
The Patriots are officially out of the playoffs, marking one of their most disappointing seasons. Compounding their struggles, they enter the upcoming match on a five-game losing streak, with their latest defeat against the Chargers ending 6-0. A significant factor in their lack of success is their low-scoring offence, averaging only 12.3 points per game. However, their defence has performed comparatively better, allowing an average of 21.2 points per game.
On the other hand, the Pittsburgh Steelers are having a solid season, currently holding the second-place position in the AFC North with a chance to make it to the playoffs this year. Despite coming into this match following a loss to the Cardinals, they boast one of the best defences in the league, allowing an average of 19.1 points per game. However, their offence requires improvement, currently scoring an average of only 16 points.
I don’t find it challenging to predict this game, especially with the Steelers playing in their hometown. It seems like a sure win. The last time these two teams faced each other was in September 2022, with the Patriots emerging victorious with a 17-14 score.
