Casumo and Pokerstars approved for Ontario license

AGCO have approved online casino operators Casumo and PokerStars for internet gaming licences in Ontario.

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission approved both Casumo and Pokerstars of Ontario on June 8th, 2022. BetVictor was the newest operator, approved 5 days earlier to operate in Ontario.

This means that Casumo and PokerStars are the newest businesses that can operate in Ontario. Since the launch of regulated iGaming on April 4th, there have been over 30 different operators that AGCO has approved.

However, the Casumo license is only a 1-year licence while the Pokerstars license is valid for 2 years.

Although the regulated market is only a few months old in Ontario, the performance has met expectations. You can find a list of all approved online casino sites at the iGaming Ontario site.

Meanwhile, operators like theScore, BetRivers, 888, PointsBet, LeoVegas, Bwin, Bet365, FanDuel, BetMGM and Caesars all obtained licenses before launch.

AGCO published comprehensive guidelines for operators and suppliers earlier this year. Since then there have been many applications but only a few operators have been approved so far, but that list is continuously expanding.
