New York Giants vs Washington Commanders (Sunday, Sep 15th)
The New York Giants didn’t exactly kick off the season as they’d hoped, suffering a tough 28-6 loss to the Vikings. Daniel Jones had a particularly rough outing, throwing at least two interceptions, one of which the Vikings turned into a touchdown. Heading into their next matchup, sportsbooks have the Giants as big underdogs — and honestly, that’s no surprise. Not only were they lackluster in their season opener, but their preseason performances left a lot to be desired as well.
On the other hand, the Commanders aren’t coming in much better. They also lost their opener, falling 37-20 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jayden Daniels put in a solid effort, combining for over 250 yards passing and rushing and scoring two touchdowns, but it still wasn’t enough to pull off a win. The silver lining? The Commanders will be playing at home, and most of their key players are healthy, so they’ve got that going for them.
If I had to make a prediction, I’d lean toward the Commanders. Home-field advantage, plus a relatively fit roster, gives them an edge. That said, these two teams have history — the last time they met in November 2023, the Giants walked away with a 31-19 victory.
My pick: The Washington Commanders to win this game.
