The Detroit Lions and the New York Giants will face off in the second game of this NFL preseason. Let’s be honest: I’m pretty sure you’re as excited as I am to see who will come out on top. While it’s still very early to make predictions, I couldn’t resist writing an article about this matchup. Detroit Lions vs. New York Giants (Thurday, Aug 8th)
Last season, the Detroit Lions were one of the biggest surprises in the NFL. They not only managed to finish at the top of the NFC North with a record of 12 wins and 5 losses, but they also eliminated teams such as the Rams and the Buccaneers. Although they couldn’t stop the 49ers, they came very close to reaching the Super Bowl, which was enough for me to rank them among the top five teams last season.
On the other hand, it’s been years since the New York Giants were as strong as they once were. Last season, things didn’t go well for them, as they finished third in the NFC East with a record of 6 wins and 11 losses, missing the playoffs.
In the last preseason, these two teams faced off in the first week, with the Detroit Lions coming out on top with a 21-16 victory. If I had to predict the outcome for this year, I’d pick the Lions to win again. Of course, anything can happen in the preseason, but the Lions’ offense has improved so much over the years that I think the Giants’ defense won’t be able to stop them.
My pick: The Detroit Lions to win this game with a +3.5 point spread (-120 at BetOBet).
