The NHL preseason is just two weeks away, but I’ve already made predictions regarding which teams have the highest probability of winning their respective divisions. It’s challenging to predict how things will play out given the level of competition, however, there are some teams that won’t have any trouble finishing at the top of their division. In this 2023-24 NHL Division Winners Predictions article, I will share my insights and provide you with the top picks, allowing you to bet on any team you choose.

Atlantic Division
The Atlantic Division is undoubtedly one of the NHL’s most competitive divisions, featuring strong teams like the Boston Bruins, Montreal Canadiens, and the Florida Panthers, who made it to the finals last year. However, there is a team that has been steadily improving in recent years and stands a good chance of winning the division this year. The Toronto Maple Leafs are the clear favourites for the upcoming season. In the previous season, they secured a second-place finish with 50 wins and 21 losses, trailing only the Bruins. Surprisingly, they were eliminated in the playoffs by the Florida Panthers, a result that caught many off guard. For the upcoming season, I believe that they have a strong chance of finishing at the top, especially considering the notable acquisitions they made during the recent transfers.

Metropolitan Division
The Metropolitan Division is known for its competitiveness, and this year promises to be even more exciting. Last season, the Carolina Hurricanes were the clear favourites to win the division, and they are once again the frontrunners this season. They finished last season at the top with an impressive record of 52 wins and only 21 losses, one of the best records in the NHL. While there are other formidable teams in the division, such as the New Jersey Devils, Pittsburgh Penguins, and New York Rangers, the Hurricanes appear to be a cut above the rest.

Central Division
The Central Division has consistently provided exciting hockey over the years, and I’m genuinely excited to see which team will come out on top this year. In the previous season, the Colorado Avalanche overcame a rough start to finish at the division’s pinnacle with an impressive record of 51 wins and only 24 losses. However, they couldn’t overcome the challenge posed by the Kraken in the playoffs. Looking ahead to the upcoming season, the Avalanche once again emerge as the clear favourites to dominate the division, although they should remain vigilant against strong contenders like the Dallas Stars and Winnipeg Jets. Nevertheless, the Avalanche are undoubtedly the top contenders.

Pacific Division
The Pacific Division is my favourite, which shouldn’t come as a surprise given its consistently high quality. In the previous season, the Vegas Golden Knights emerged victorious in the division and even clinched the Stanley Cup against the Florida Panthers. However, this year, the Edmonton Oilers are the frontrunners to win the Pacific Division. They secured a second-place finish last season with an impressive record of 50 wins and 23 losses. Not only were they the most prolific offensive team, but they also boasted two of the NHL’s top players Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Despite their exceptional talent, they fell short in the playoffs against the Golden Knights. Nevertheless, I believe they have learned from their mistakes and are poised for success this year. While other teams like the Kings and the Kraken deserve attention, it’s likely that the division’s top spot will be contested primarily between the Oilers and the Knights.
