Green Bay Packers vs Cincinnati Bengals (Friday, Aug 11th)

The Green Bay Packers are entering a new era at the quarterback position, following Aaron Rodgers’ departure from the club after a remarkable 18-season tenure. This means that the quarterback for this season will be Jordan Love. This will be a great change for the 24 years old show everyone why he can step in and be a great quarterback for the Packers in years to come. Last season, the Green Bay Packers werenā€™t that great as they finish in the 3rd place of the NFC North division with a record of 8 wins and 9 losses.

On the other hand, the Bengals will start the season without their main quarterback, Joe Burrow, and this will probably be a big blow-up for them, however, I still think this will be a great change for Trevor Siemian to show the NFL that he has what it takes to lead the Bengals this upcoming season. Last season, the Cincinnati Bengals did well as they manage to win the AFC North division with a record of 12 wins and only 4 losses, however, they lost against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Conference Championship.

If I had to pick a team to win I would go with the Bengals, however, I wouldnā€™t be surprised if the Packers manage to make an upset. The last time that these two played against each other was back in 2021 with the Packers winning by 25-22.

My pick: The Cincinnati Bengals to win this game with a point spread of +3.5 (-115 at BetDukes).

Indiana Colts vs Buffalo Bills (Saturday, Aug 12th)

Another intriguing match that you donā€™t want to miss will be the clash between the Indianapolis Colts and the Buffalo Bills. The Bills will be hosting the game, and one certainty is that Josh Allen and Diggs wonā€™t be participating. This isn’t surprising, as during the preseason, key players often see limited or no action to prevent injuries. In the previous season, the Bills clinched victory in the AFC East but faced defeat against the Bengals in the playoffs.

On the other side, the Indianapolis Colts are adopting a similar approach, although they will introduce their new quarterback, Anthony Richardson. This presents a golden opportunity for the 21-year-old, marking his first substantial appearance in the NFL. The Colts’ performance this season will be under scrutiny, especially considering their third-place finish in the AFC South last year. Notably, their last playoff appearance was in 2020.

For this game, my prediction leans towards the Bills. Despite the absence of their key players, the Colts seem unlikely to secure victory. In their most recent encounter last year, the Bills emerged triumphant with a score of 27-24.

My pick: The Buffalo Bills with a point spread of +3.5 (-109 at BetOBet).

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Dallas Cowboys (Saturday, Aug 12th)

Arguably the most exciting game of the first week of the preseason will be the showdown between the Jaguars and the Cowboys. The Jaguars, currently one of the youngest squads in the NFL, are generating a lot of excitement. However, they must address certain issues, such as their defence. While they secured victory in the AFC South division last season, they fell short against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Playoffs.

Meanwhile, this also marks the Dallas Cowboys’ first preseason match. One certainty for this game is that Dak Prescott won’t be on the field. The Cowboys boast one of the NFL’s top defences, which could pose a significant challenge for the Jaguars. Nonetheless, as demonstrated in the past, surprises can occur. Recall last year’s encounter, where the Jaguars managed to break through the defence, clinching a victory with a score of 40-34.

Predicting the outcome of this match is no easy feat. Nonetheless, several factors must be taken into account. Firstly, the Cowboys will enjoy the advantage of playing in their home stadium. Secondly, the probable absence of Trevor Lawrence, who likely won’t see any playtime, poses a significant setback for the Jaguars. If I were to choose a team, I would favour the Cowboys

My pick: The Dallas Cowboys with a point spread of +4 (-110 at PowerPlay Sports).

Philadelphia Eagles vs Baltimore Ravens (Saturday, Aug 12th)

This will mark the Eagles’ first game following their loss in the Super Bowl final against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Eagles had an impressive season last year, finishing atop the NFC East with one of the best defences and offences in the league. It comes as no surprise that they are among the favourites to clinch their division once again. However, for this match, it’s highly likely that key players like Jalen Hurts won’t be participating.

Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens will play their first preseason game after losing to the Bengals in the playoffs last year. They did okay last season, finishing second in their division. But their main quarterback, Lamar Jackson, missed most of the games, which was a big problem. The good news is he’s back now, but he won’t play in this match either.

It’s hard to guess who will win since many top players won’t be playing. However, since the Baltimore Ravens are playing at their stadium, I think they might win. The last time they played in 2020, Baltimore won 30-28.

My pick: The Baltimore Ravens to win this game with a point spread of -4.5 (-110 at iBet).
