Burnley vs Manchester City
Burnley has once again secured a spot in the Premier League after earning promotion from the Championship last year. Following an exceptional season, Burnley clinched the Championship title with an impressive tally of 101 points. Guided by their coach, the former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, Burnley found themselves in a well-deserved position. The team has undergone a series of transfers this year, particularly during the summer window. Notably, they’ve brought in a cohort of young players, including Jordan Beyer, Dara O’Shea, Michael Obafemi, Zeki Amdouni, and more.
Meanwhile, the reigning champions, Manchester City, are poised to kick off their season in a bid to defend their title. Their recent outing didn’t go as planned, resulting in a loss against Arsenal in the FA Community Shield. Yet, it’s worth noting that they faced a similar setback last year in the same cup but still went on to secure a treble victory. This summer, the team has witnessed the departure of two key players, Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan, but Manchester City’s management has been active in securing replacements. Notably, Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic have joined their ranks, indicating the club’s commitment to maintaining a competitive squad.
This will be the first game of the season and I have to say that I’m very excited to watch. Even though Burnley plays at home, I can’t see them beating Manchester City.

Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest
After winning the FA Community Shield against Manchester City last week, Arsenal is gearing up for their first match of the season against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium. There’s palpable excitement to witness Arsenal’s performance this year, especially following the signings of Declan Rice and Kai Havertz. Coming off a second-place finish last season, Arsenal enters this season bolstered by more experience and better players, positioning them as strong contenders for the league title.
On the other hand, Nottingham Forest didn’t have a particularly good season last year, as they narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship. Although they managed to retain their place in the Premier League, Nottingham Forest will need to put in considerable effort if they aim to surpass their performance from last season. This summer, they’ve made some intriguing signings, including Anthony Elanga and Lewis O’Brien.
Given that Arsenal has the home-field advantage, it’s challenging for me to envision Nottingham Forest winning this game. The last encounter between these two teams took place in October 2022, resulting in a 5-0 victory for Arsenal.
My Pick: Arsenal Moneyline bet of -588 with iBet.

Chelsea vs Liverpool
Anticipation runs high for the upcoming clash between Chelsea and Liverpool, arguably the most exciting match of the weekend. Following a disappointing previous season in which Chelsea finished 12th with 44 points, the club embarked on an extensive rebuilding journey. They secured several new signings while parting ways with certain players. Notably, they appointed Mauricio Pochettino as their new coach, a strategic move after three coaching changes in the previous season.
Liverpool, similarly, faced challenges in the past season, securing a 5th-place finish with 67 points and no major titles. This season, their exclusion from the Champions League provides an opportunity to concentrate on the Premier League. However, the absence of Champions League revenue has limited their transfer budget.
This one is very hard to predict, however, I still think that Liverpool will win. The last time that these two faced each other was back in April and the result was a 0-0.
My Pick: Liverpool Moneyline bet of +130 with BetOBet.
